Thoracic Outlet Syndrome:
Rehabilitation and Treatment for Hypersensitive Nerves

Abstract

This presentation will discuss the upper extremity neurological disorder Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS). This session will discuss the diagnosis and treatment of TOS from a different perspective, treating the entire neurological system beyond the clinical compression of the nerves. 

Biography

Jennifer Rizzo is the athletic trainer at Concordia International School Shanghai.  She is an alumnus of Concordia University Irvine, where she earned a BA in Exercise and Sport Science with an emphasis in Athletic Training and earned a Master of Business Administration. She earned a Doctorate in Education at the United States Academy in Daphne, Alabama. Dr. Rizzo worked at Concordia University Irvine for 15 years holding multiple positions as athletic trainer and teaching faculty in the Athletic Training Education Program, program director and the clinical education coordinator. Dr. Rizzo has certifications in NASM-CES, cupping therapy and dry needling. Outside of her work as an athletic trainer, Rizzo enjoys traveling and being outdoors, preferably at the beach.  

APATS is not a BOC CEU provider. Upon submission of completion quiz and presentation evaluation we will issue a certificate of completion. 

APATS Leadership

Each APATS coordinator is nominated for two years. The coordinators work together to plan the annual meeting, work on the financial health and stability of APATS and communicate the happenings of APATS athletic trainers throughout Asia.
